Out of town / national / international patients:
The consultation process for out of town/national/international patients is as provided under “Consultation Process’ above.

Our patient population is currently comprised of over 40% out of area patients. We therefore have become very experienced in providing a warm and welcome environment for patients not from our immediate vicinity. We strive to provide our patients with a thorough understanding of not only our procedures but the entire process prior to arrival. We regularly offer consultations through email correspondence, telephone and Skype and encourage prospective out of area patients to take advantage of these ways to learn more about all aspects of their care. We realize the extra time and effort our out of area patients expend in planning surgery away from home. We therefore provide top priority in all scheduling to make the process as smooth and effortless as possible.

We have developed and implemented ways to maximize the efficiency of your time while visiting the Los Angeles area. This includes being seen on the day of your arrival for consultation as well as offering your preoperative evaluation including lab work that very same day. Surgery may then be offered the very next day. Depending on your procedure, you will remain in the area for a very short period of time and may return home following your initial postoperative visit. It is also not mandatory to have someone travel with you from home. We are happy to arrange transport from our recovery room to your hotel or to one of our trusted after care facilities depending on your individual needs and desires. Postoperative care for any length of time after surgery may also be arranged well in advance of your arrival.

We consider the postoperative period, generally the 6 weeks following surgery, as a vital and integral part of the entire surgical experience. We offer in person visits at the three week and six week points after surgery, and if not possible, either a detailed phone conversation or email correspondence with us to learn of your progress at those respective times. Please know that we remain available for all questions and concerns 24 hours a day 7 days a week for your convenience. Our numerous options for postoperative care have been in place for over 15 years and fit the needs of all of our individual patients.
